Overview
This is a perfect tour for those that want a snowmobiling adventure near Vik. It is a wonderful add on to your south coast tour.
This tour gives you the opportunity to go up on the top of a glacier. The Mýrdalsjökull glacier is Iceland's fourth largest glacier and covers the volcano Katla. To get up to the top of the glacier we will take you up the mountain in a real glacier truck (about 1 hour each way).
Once there we'll get on our snowmobiles and ride up the ice cap. From there we can enjoy the glacier landscapes and scenery over south Iceland. Everything needed for the tour is provided and our expert guides will teach you how to handle the snowmobile to enjoy this adventure in a fun but safe way. The duration of the tour is suitable for first time riders.

Additional Information
All drivers must be 17 years of age or older and have a full, valid driver's license. According to Icelandic law, a learner's permit, tractor, or motorcycle license is not sufficient. Single riders and groups with odd numbers must book a single-ride snowmobile.

What to bring
- We recommend you bring warm first and/or mid layer, e.g. a warm sweater.
Know before you go
- A valid driver’s’ license and a minimum of 17 years of age is required to operate a snowmobile.
- Standard price includes a snowmobile ride sharing a two-person snowmobile. If you are solo traveller / rider you must upgrade before the tour to a solo snowmobile.
- Jeans and sneakers are not recommended, good sturdy shoes are vital. Lunch and snacks can be bought during tour but are not included.
- Duration is 2.5 - 3 hours.
