Kerid Crater

Kerid (Kerið) is a 55m (180 ft) deep volcanic crater lake located in the Grímsnes area in south Iceland, along the Golden Circle. Kerið is one of the most visually stunning geological wonders in the country. It is part of a group of volcanic hills called Tjarnarhólar and is now filled with water, creating a lake whose steep circular slopes resemble an ancient amphitheatre.
